Lauren Walier
Lauren Walier is a selfless and kind-hearted 21-year-old powerhouse who lives each day courageously. Born weighing just 14 ounces, Lauren has been fighting for life every single day since. She was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) at the age of one, but she has never let that stop her from reaching for her dreams. When she was 12 years old, Lauren attended her first CP awareness meeting, where she learned that there was no federal funding for CP research. Lauren decided to become the voice for those who didn’t have one and to help and inspire others who may be struggling with CP. Later that same year, she began a type of physical therapy known as the Symptom Recovery Model an advanced cutting-edge treatment plan for those with CP, as well as many various types of conditions. Lauren believes that this therapy is the reason she is no longer in her wheelchair and walker and continues to make amazing progress on a daily basis. In fact, she s progressing so well that she has now fulfilled her dream of ballroom dancing. During this journey, Lauren has become a ballroom dance champion, performing and competing all over the USA and abroad alongside dancers who do not have disabilities. Lauren s passion to help others inspired the creation of the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for Cerebral Palsy (CP), as well as her outreach work with special education classes. Lauren began her undergraduate studies in the fall of 2017 at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.
Lauren’s non profit organisation called “Making lemonade” is changing lives and her passion to make a difference is inspiring to say the least. To reach out and help Lauren make a difference in the lives of others with CP, follow the link to her website and get involved in her great cause. http://www.makelemonaide.org/history-…
